34 week update...
4th-Dec-2012 08:32 pm
Never posted any of these here, mods if this isn't okay, i'll delete...

•What's happening in your life/hobbies/study/work/cat herding this week?
Nothing happening really, off bedrest for a couple of weeks now, all my cats are doing great! LOL

•How is your family, and how are your friends re your pregnancy?
My family is good, my mom is taking like 3 or 4 days off to be with me, baby, and my 20 month old daughter when I give birth, so that's nice.

•How far along are you?
33 weeks 5 days

•How are you feeling physically and mentally?
Sore, tired, can barely walk really. The SPD is horrid for me. My lower back hurts, my hips hurt, my crotch hurts, and I can't lift my legs to put my pants or underwear on. Sleeping these days is almost out of the question. Rolling over in bed is out of the question. The only comfortable position I can find in life is getting on all fours in my bed with my hips and behind in the air. That seems to relieve the pressure and pain in my hips and pelvis area, at least temporarily.

•Any appointments?
Had my 34 week appt yesterday! My OB did an NST, which she was happy with, I had an ultrasound, and baby Teyla weighs 5lbs 5oz, and did my 3 hour glucose test, which made me sick, but I'll be damned if I threw up that stuff and had to take that test again, so I kept it down. I was starving due to the 12 hour fast before the test, and after I drank the liquid, I got ill, which made me not want food. I didn't eat until 4pm after not having food or water since 10 the night before. Yeah that went well. At first my OB planned to induce at 39 weeks, which we were fine with, but then yesterday she said she wants to induce at 38 weeks, or as soon as she can, considering the complications i've had and my history. 4 more weeks!! We are sooooo not ready. The only thing that's ready is Teylas bed LOL The other room still has junk in it, I haven't taken Taryn's old clothes out yet and washed them, haven't packed hospital bags, haven't taken Taryn's old bottles out for sterilization yet, and there are a few things I still need to get at the store. We are soooo far behind LOL We have a lot to do in what seems like a short amount of time!
My OB is also in the process of transferring her patients to a new hospital, and we toured the new hospital yesterday. All I have to say is, thank God she still gave us the option of delivering at our old hospital because the new one sucks. The only thing they have going for them is that they have a Level 3 NICU, and our old hospital has a Level 2. This fact won me over before the tour, but that's it.

•Any questions of the rest of the community?
None ATM...

•Something you didn't expect this week?
To be induced at 38 weeks! LOL So excited!

•Something you're thinking through, buying or making for the new little one?
I'm not very crafty, but I was editing my registry the other day, and saw these really cute swaddle blankets for her, and I was really into swaddling DD, all the way to the point where I was trying to swaddle her when she didn't want to be swaddled anymore (around 4 or so months), so I added them!

•Any pics you'd like to share?
I took belly pics with DD all the way from 6 to 40 weeks, and I didn't with this baby. I wish I had though. Sadly I just have one that I took at 7 months.

Where did you get these questions from? Are there others more specific for each week? Im interested in using these in my personal journal.

The Jan 2013 due date community :)

I don't know of any different ones, I think these were just the ones put on the userinfo by the mod of my due date comm...sorry!
5th-Dec-2012 03:19 am (UTC)
Ah ok...im new and curious and i document everything lol

Feel free - most due date comms have a range of similar questions that they use in their comms so that the members can keep up with each other a bit and see where each other is at the same approximate time. If you want to use them in your personal journal there's no reason why you can't! (I'm the mod of Jan2013)

Once I have a due date I will certainly join up! :) I'm still TTC atm. >

I'm not a mod (anymore) but these are typically frowned upon here. If all 3,000 members decided to follow suit, everyone's friends pages would get cluttered up really fast.

Agreed. I think that's why they're in the info of the due date comms and not here--that's typically where they belong.

Wondering why OP is sterilising bottles if she's as determined to BF as she claims to be in breastfeeding comm.
Sorry, just saying

Also agree with above comment, this isn't really the place for these surveys.

This is not very nice. And yes I am in the BF community and yes I remember the drama from last time but, really, calling her out for sterilizing bottles, really? I was determined to breast feed, and I did, and I still am breast feeding my 16 month old but I had bottles and used them and sterilized them before I gave birth and that is really not anyone's business. Your comment just sounded all kinds of catty.
5th-Dec-2012 05:33 pm (UTC)
Or it could be me asking why she was doing that as part of her prep. If someone is determined to breastfeeding, it's a self sabotaging action.

Don't assume someone's trying to be mean. I'm not calling her out, as you put it, as she volunteered this info and I'm querying it.

Yeah, sterilizing bottles isn't so controversial, lol. Why is anyone interested in that?
5th-Dec-2012 04:02 pm (UTC)
I thought you were going to breastfeed? Why do you need to sterilize bottles?
5th-Dec-2012 06:39 pm (UTC)
I'm sterilizing the bottles because when I return to class, she's going to have to drink pumped milk from a bottle when my husband feeds her while i'm gone. Should've mentioned that, sorry!
5th-Dec-2012 08:35 pm (UTC)
No, you didn't have to mention it. It's none of people's business why you're doing it. It's not even controversial...it's sterilizing bottles, lol. Some people are just catty and harsh.

Y'know, I'm a huge breastfeeding advocate and could've slammed my head into a wall after all the drama the OP caused with her last breastfeeding journey and all the advice she flat out ignored, but I still totally agree. Many breastfeeding moms still need bottles, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

I hope that if the OP really does want to bf this time, she has armed herself with the information and resources she needs and knows that she needs to pump any time a bottle is fed (even when she's at school). But, it is absolutely possible to feed exclusively breastmilk and switch from breast to bottle to accommodate mom's schedule.

I saw it, too...and this isn't that community, so I see it as a whole separate thing.

I don't really think different community=entirely different issue, because many people crossover between here, breastfeeding, and p101. Many of these people devoted a lot of time and energy to the OP the first time around (and even this time with the bf related questions she has posted). I can understand why those people might still feel hurt from before if the OP had posted something that implied she was ignoring all the advice again. I just don't think 'sterilizing bottles' is something to make the OP feel bad about.
