Feeling thumb-sucking??

pregnant bender
This is a totally random and ridiculous question, but has anyone else felt baby sucking his/her thumb? I've been feeling very rhythmic movements in the area where I am 99% sure Baby A's head is, and it's qualitatively different than hiccups (faster and more like thumping than 'jumping', if that makes sense). I know my daughter was sucking her thumb in utero at 35 weeks - we caught her on an ultrasound - so I'm thinking these rhythmic movements could be a fist moving in and out of the mouth. Anyone else had this experience?

I believe it! I felt the strangest pulling feelings when I was pregnant and then I had one of those 3D ultrasounds done when I was pregnant with my youngest and caught him "on tape" pulling on the umbillical cord, giving me that same pulling sensation.

I also would notice after the babies were born, in the first few days, that I would recognize certain movements as related to what I had felt. For example, the baby might stretch his elbows out, and at the same time stick out his rump and turn his head... and I'd think, wow I remember when he did that from the inside!

Wow, I am looking forward to having a good look at the way my little one moves once it's out. I spend a good chunk of my day wondering "What in the world is going on in there?"

I know, it is super distracting... I'm always like "what are you DOING in there?" "What appendage is that?" "Do I need to come in there and separate you two?"

Oh, how cool! I don't think I've ever felt them yanking on the cords, but now I'll be trying, lol. I never really was able to correlate specific post-birth movements that my daughter made with what I felt in utero, except the hiccups, but then she didn't move around very dramatically... mostly just kicked me in the same two square inches between my right hip and ribs for a month straight. :)

I am getting that feeling now, I thought it could be him pulling on his cord, nice to know it could be right.

I have no idea but this totally made me smile thinking about them sucking their thumbs in your tummy! :)

So cute!

Also, I totally stole this icon. Is there someone to credit? My husband and I love Futurama. I made fry/leela cake toppers for our wedding and this icon is perfect for when I get pregnant. :) (my current icon does not reflect any feelings towards you, just the only other futurama icon I have atm :) )

I have no idea who to credit for this icon, sadly - I picked it up from another LJer who said she didn't know where it was from either.

I love the idea of Fry/Leela wedding cake toppers!

Ah! Well if someone claims it then I will give notice! :)

I wanted to do something different and quirky and it just came to me!

Thank you! I cut a barbie dress down to size and painted the tux on him. :) Bender came like that. :)

My mom swears that she heard my sister popping her thumb out of her mouth. She would hear faint little pops all the time... I guess she was right, since my sister was an avid thumb sucker until she was about 7.

I'm 12W6D and don't feel anything yet but I was in for a sonogram on Monday and lo and behold, a thumb sucker! The tech gave me a picture. I don't even know if it's possible this early but it was darn adorable.
