Christmas present!
Dino Shoop
I'm 26 weeks pregnant with number 2 and a few weeks back I went for my "big" scan where they check everything. The doctor's office was doing this cute thing where if you wanted to find out boy/girl, they would do that part of the scan, not tell you that day and wrap an ornament for you to open on Christmas as a "present" ...since this is the last baby I'm planning on, hubby and I decided to get the ornament and wait.....so this morning we opened it up!

I was THRILLED!!!!! 1) I'm an only child and would have LOVED  sister growing up....so even though I would have loved a boy, I think it's neat my daughter will have the sister bond. They will be about 2 1/2 years apart, so hopefully close enough to really get to be playmates and enjoy each other 2) I can reuse everything!!! My wallet also breathed a sigh of relief at realizing I wasn't going to have to redo everything (I am a "girly girl" at heart..so my first daughter lived and still lives, though now more by her own choosing,  in a world of pink/purple). My hubby was also very, very happy as he had made it no secret all along that he wanted another daughter.

Very fun Christmas surprise

What a neat idea! I don't think we would have been patient enough to wait to open the ornament.

Congrats!

I was surprised I held out!

My first daughter, I was coming off a miscarriage and had a massive amount of bleeding at like 12 weeks. I panicked and went in for an ultrasound and they actually told me she was a girl then, so I felt like with this one I knew SOOOOO late, but I forgot that in reality it's the time they normally tell you.

It's been nice to not have a worry filled pregnancy though!

Awesome!

I know you're in Vegas, so random question - do you go to Swainston/Reynolds/Martin?? I only ask because my good friend sees Dr. Swainston & when she found out her baby's sex last year, they did just this! =]

I do!

Reynolds is new to me though....She was not there when I delivered my daughter and in the between time, I was just going for gyn checks once a year, so I only saw Swainston.

Swainston is my primary doctor that I saw all through my first daughter and then now (though Martin actually delivered my daughter lol).

I love their office. When I had my miscarriage, he was just so nice about it (not that you'd expect a doctor to be a jerk about something so sensitive...but I thought he was just super kind). I know a lot of people complain about the wait and stuff, but they are good doctors.

I've thought about switching to them - I'm actually friends with Reynolds (she's just Tammy to me... haha!!). I've never heard anything but good things about all the doctors and the NP in the office. Plus their office is closer to my house (I'm up by Mountain View), which is always nice. haha.
