7lbs even, 20in long.
Short birth story:
39 weeks even...Got to the my regular OB appointment Thursday, and found out that the hospital that my OB is transferring her patients to didn't accept my insurance, so we got our wish and were able to deliver at our regular hospital where Taryn was born. I wasn't supposed to be induced until the next morning, and our plans were to stay at the same motel my mom was staying at until Friday morning. We were sent to the hospital for monitoring around 2pm, for a biophysical ultrasound, and some NST strips. After being there so long, and into most of the late evening, I already knew it was going to be like Taryn's birth where we never left. By 7pm, they had admitted me, and we started calling family. My mom and Taryn made it around 5pm, and stayed until they admitted me. Poor Taryn still running fever and sick, went back to the motel around 7pm. We waited for my OB to come, but she had a c-section and a hysterectomy, so she never made it that night to put in my cervidil. 7am Friday morning, I had a check, and was at 0cm, 0% effaced, and they started the pitocin. I thought it was weird that they didn't start cervidil, and still think that's what they should have started with anyhow. I had been on pitocin feom 7am to about 1:20pm. Only 1.5cm dilated and contractions had stalled. Not to mention I was sick as a dog...like, with a cold. The nurses said taryn was not able to come back because she was positive for the adenovirus (cousin to the flu). My mom said she coughed and cried and tossed and turned all night and got zero sleep, plus her fever is sky high even with the motrin every 4 hours. Mom made the decision to take taryn back home, but first she has to stop back by the hospital on the way to switch carseats with us. Shes also going to give ladybug and alcohol bath to try and get her temp down. It breaks my heart that my mom wouldnt be here for the birth as planned. Mark is here but the only thing hes done besides sleep and play his game is complain. Im basically alone. Contractions so far arent too bad, comming every 2-6 min, lasting about a minute
So contractions had stalled, and my OB came in to check me. 1.5cm dilated, and about 50% effaced. Around 1:30, she decided to take me off the pitocin, and let me rest and eat for a bit. To be off the monitors was great. Those straps aren't meant for big mommies. 4:30pm came, and it was time to get serious. My dr came in, broke my water, and shit got REAL. My contractions immediately got regular, but not too bad, and thank goodness my mom was on her way LOL Time suspended and in like, 2 hours I had the epidural (wonderful, again!!) and I was almost at a 10. My OB came in with a smile on her face and said let see what you can do! LOL I was excited. I literally pushed 5 times in 7 minutes, and at 7:30pm, my Teyla was here!! I couldn't believe it, they had to tell me to stop pushing because I was sure it would take longer. I pushed for 45 minutes with Taryn. Teyla basically just flew out LOL
They put her on my tummy and I was soooo happy. My mom, husband, and Taryn were in the room and they all had huge smiles. Definitely one of the best days of my life!!
Here's a pic of miss Teyla Aubrey!
