I did finally have my baby; lovely Layla was born on the 16th July (a month already!). I'm working on writing up my birth story but finding the time to sit and type it is an issue!
Anyway, I had a question for you mums who have had babies before...
My lochia 'ended' (it was in the whitish/yellowish, smudgy, barely there stage and had been for a while, I expected it to end entirely soon) but yesterday I started pelvic floor excercises and today my lochia came back? It's light red, like the beginning of a period before the flow starts. And light enough that I've not put a pad in yet.
Now, when I had Layla, I had to have an episiotomy and I tore twice (she was helped out with forceps), but there has been no pain for two weeks, the swelling had gone on all 3 and my stitches were dissolvable and dissolved also about two weeks ago, so the blood can't be from a wound that had been irritated by my exercises - Why would it come back? I've not exerted myself physically at all.
I wondered if maybe it would be my period returning but I'm breastfeeding (although rarely, maybe twice a day, she's mostly formula fed as I wasn't producing enough milk and she hadn't gained any weight for two weeks).
Any ideas what it might be? Tia!
